Introduction: Steps in Earning From Your Blog

So you want to start earning from your blog. You've heard from your friends and family how successful they are in earning a decent salary from the net. And it all seems easy. Just write a blog post and you earn.

Well, yes and no. It's easy because you could do it anytime, anywhere as long as you have internet connection. It's easy because you can basically start a blog about anything you want.

But you have to commit yourself to work on it. Rome was not built in a day. You may have a blog, but unless you work on it, committing yourself to make it something that people will visit, write on it constantly, and promote it so that more people will know about it, you may not achieve earning from blogging.

This series is to try to teach you in what steps to take in making your blog work for you.

Step 1 tomorrow!
Starting a Blog

Topics Covered:

  • What blogging platform do I use?
  • Should I buy my own domain right away?

Home Computer Security -- A Survey

No matter how a home computer is connected to the Internet, intruders' attacks are often successful. Many home computer owners don't realize that they need to pay attention to computer security. In the same way that you are responsible for having insurance when you drive a car, you need to also be responsible for your home computer's security.

Sponsored reviews

Currently, my favorite paid blogging program is sponsored reviews. In this program, you bid on opportunities in the marketplace, and if the advertiser accepts your bid, you then write a review based on the advertiser's preferences. You have 7 days to complete your assignment. You get paid every two weeks via paypal. Very relaxed, unlike the grabbing that goes with payperpost and smorty.

The only downside is that you only get 65% of the listed price. For example, if the listed price is 10 dollars, you will only get 6.50 dollars. Still fine with me, because so far I get the most opps from them.

NetAudioAds (in Beta) -- be first to join

What is Pay-Per-Play Media?

NetAudioAds Pay-Per-Play (PPP) is an online media channel that plays 5 second audio advertisements like the one you just heard on websites that place the PPP code on their web pages.

Audio ads are only heard on web pages where the website owner has placed PPP code.

PPP audio ads will be contextually related to the text content (readable content) of any web page where the PPP code is placed. The advertisement you just heard is just a sample ad.

The audio ad is only 5 seconds in length and a website visitor will only hear one 5 second advertisement per visit to any specific web page where the PPP code has been inserted. The visitor will only hear one audio ad for every 3 minutes they visit if they have already heard an audio ad on another page of the same website.

Pay-Per-Play is now in huge demand by major branding advertisers all over the world. As of 12/29/2007 the Pay-Per-Play network has grown to over 6 million websites.

How Does Pay-Per-Play Work?

PPP audio ads play as soon as a visitor arrives on a web page where the PPP code is inserted. The audio advertisement is only heard and not seen and requires no action from a website visitor.

One of the main benefits of running PPP ads on your website is the fact that you never send visitors away from your site. This allows you the opportunity to continue to earn from your visitors.

PPP audio ads play automatically for 5 seconds so website owners need to choose specific pages of their website where it is appropriate for their visitors to hear a single 5 second audio advertisement.

You should be aware that PPP audio ads are not appropriate for all web pages. It is up to the website owner where they will place audio ads.

Get Paid On 3 Tiers...

NetAudioAds Pay-Per-Play (PPP) offers a generous (RESIDUAL) compensation plan that is designed to pay you in several ways:

TIER 1: Get paid 25% of what the advertiser spends "per play" on audio ads that you serve on your website(s). You get paid for every visitor that remains on any web page (where you place your PPP code) for more than 2 seconds.

20% of Internet users do not have their audio system turned on but you will be paid for 100% of your traffic where an audio ad is served whether it is heard or not. The price that our advertisers pay already takes into account that only 80% of their ads will actually be heard.

TIER 2: Get paid 5% of what the advertiser spends "per play" on audio ads that are served on the websites of those that you personally refer to the Pay-Per-Play opportunity.

TIER 3: Get paid 5% of what the advertiser spends "per play" on audio ads that are served on the websites of those that your direct referrals bring on board.

We Are In Beta...

Between now and February 1st, 2008 we are aggressively seeking new affiliates and website owners to place the PPP audio ad code on the pages of their website so that we can establish a large footprint for our advertisers.

Our footprint will be verified by an independent third party auditing service by the name of BPA Worldwide. BPA will verify our reach to our advertisers. As a publisher (website owner) you are in a unique position to be one of the few that will be allowed to earn ongoing residual commissions off of the effort of websites that you refer.

We are offering a generous 3 tiered residual commission structure as an incentive to gain your involvement right now.

Be sure to sign up for this free opportunity today because it could be gone tomorrow. Once we have enough affiliates to ensure the continued growth of our program then we will shut the doors and nobody else will be allowed to earn off of the effort of those they refer.

We will be in BETA up until February 1st, 2008 (the day that audio ads will start playing).

Payperpost -- Get Paid to Blog!

Payperpost is probably one of the most talked about and most popular pay to blog services out there. And no wonder, it has a a large number of advertisers. It's free to join! Just fill up the sign up form below...

You also earn from referring other bloggers to join the network AND from advertisers who want to make use of the payperpost ads!

There's a caveat. though, if your blog is less than 90 days old, or has a non active period of a month, you won't be able to be included in the marketplace, BUT you may be able to participate through the payperpost direct even without fulfilling the above requirements. That's not really a biggie though, because you can try if blog your blog gets qualified for the marketplace again after you have fulfilled all those requirements!

Updated marketplace requirements (7/7/2008): Blogs must be live for a minimum of thirty (30) days, counted from the date of the blog’s first post, with at least ten (10) pre-existing posts written in the 30 days prior to registration with the PayPerPost Marketplace.

Clixsense -- Earn monthly paychecks viewing ads

What it is: Get paid to click program

Adverbux -- Get Paid for searching, viewing ads and playing games

When I clicked on my site today (May 3, 2008), this is what appeared:

You are unable to login to your account.

Hey guys,
We have been forced to initiate some major changes to the Adverbux system. We have found many people from both middle eastern and asian countries cheating the adverbux system via fake referrals and using software bots to play arcade games - we cannot let this continue. We've had a couple hack attempts, and a DOS attack originate in China. We've also received hundreds of chargebacks (total of over $1,000 USD) recently via google checkout, all from these different regions... As a result, we deem it not in the best interest of the site to maintain a presence in these countries. Adverbux will, from now on, only be available to internet users from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you are not from one of the listed countries, but purchased an upgrade (blue membership) on adverbux, we will let you keep your account. Likewise, if you purchased any referral packs, just send an email to "staff@adverbux.com" and we will restore your account to you. Otherwise, if you are not from one of the listed countries, then as per the TOS you agreed to when you signed up on Adverbux, we have ended your access to this site.

I apologize again for this. It is not something I wanted to do - I tried to hold out as long as I could, but the risk outweighs any potential benefits of operating in countries from Asia, the middle east, and elsewhere.

Thank you for understanding,
Seanybob

Adverbux typically pays you 1 cent for every 30 second ad. There are also ads for less than 30 seconds which also pay proportionately less.

There are also other ways of earning money, like playing arcade games, digg ads and stumbleupon ads. Now there's a new and easy way of earning additional through their adverseach!

Oh, and you also get paid if your referrals click on their ads!

Payout is $5.00 via paypal.

I am no longer endorsing this site. I am almost at payout but now I could not even get the money I worked for.

Bidvertiser - ads on your blog or website

When your blog is still in its early stages, there is really not much yet that you can do to monetize it. Many pay to blog sites require a certain amount of lifespan of the "active" blog before you can start using their services.

One thing that you can do even from the start is to put ads on your blog. Bidvertiser is a good option. It pays via paypal or check. Minimum cashout is 10 dollars if using paypal.

And, it also has a referral program, so that means you can even earn from referring other publishers or advertisers.

Ways to earn online....

I'm still quite busy with other things, but I am trying to move (to this blog) and improve my blog on earning online. Still, if you're around and would like more online earning info, my other blog would probably help.

Watch out for updates on this blog. I'll try to do it as soon as possible.

Update (7/7/2008): This blog no longer exists.
